| STUDY WITH US, AS WE ATTEMPT TO FOLLOW AND SERVE JESUS... | |

RIO Web Ministry replaces RIO Maranatha Fellowship, which terminated services on January 18, 2011. This ministry is part of the RIO Network of Churches. This network hosts multiple mission efforts (evangelical, feeding, construction) in countries throughout the world. We realize that souls are saved by the Holy Spirit calling them to God because of Jesus' sacrificial death, but RIO is honored to witness thousands of persons to whom we minister each year step into eternity. We believe we are living in the last days of the Age of Grace. We believe we belong to the generation Jesus identified as not all dying before His return. See Matthew 24:34: [Jesus said] "Assuredly, I say to you, this generation will by no means pass away till all these things are fulfilled." We will attempt to do the things commanded of us to accomplish in the last days. Join with us! See our Mission Statement. |
Will you study with us, as we seek to follow the Master? His earthly life carved out the path for us to follow, and His Light illuminates our steps. May God richly bless you and your family. Maranatha! Contact information for RIO Web Ministry is:

| Maranatha was an Aramaic word early Christians used when they greeted or departed from each other (a "hello-goodbye" word). It was a compound word— a word composed of two shorter words. Maranatha has two meanings, depending upon whether the "N" is sounded at the end of the first word or sounded at the beginning of the second word:
Pronounced mara—natha, the word may be translated, "Come, Lord," and would be a prayer of faithful, hopeful expectation. Pronounced maran—atha, the word may be translated, "The Lord has come," and would be a prayer of faithful belief. |

COMMUNION TEACHINGS. RIO Maranatha Fellowship services periodically concluded with observance of Communion. Worshipers were invited to become one with each other and with the Triune God by gathering in a circle, representing the Lord's table; breaking matzo, representing Jesus' body broken for our sins; and drinking the fruit of the vine, representing Jesus' blood shed on Calvary's cross for the remission of our sins through the New Covenant. Each Communion service had an oral teaching, and written teachings were distributed in the notebooks, including:

[Jesus said] "Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20) The population of the world increases dramatically every second. We must do our best to spread the Gospel throughout the world. GO TO U.S. & World Population Clocks to see the current population estimates of the United States and the world.
The world has a net gain of more than 200,000 persons each day. Many newly born persons will never hear of Jesus. Then [Jesus] said to [His disciples], "The harvest [of souls] truly is great, but the laborers are few; pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." (Luke 10:2) |
